historic downtown encompasses about 230 blocks that are filled with multi-use
buildings, restaurants, bed and breakfasts, offices and residences, all with
their own historic flair. Historic tours are offered via horse and carriage,
trolley or a guided walk by one of Charlottesville's citizens.
Charlottesville
sits on the banks of the Cape Fear River. East and south of he city center are
several beautiful, white sand beaches; Kure Beach, Carolina Beach and Wrightsville
Beach to name a few. Known as, "The Port of Pleasure and Progress,: Wilmingto
once made its living through shipping, and now prospers off of a thriving film
industry and tourism. :ocated in the southeastern corner of the state, Charlottesville
provides access to many great beaches, and other southern cities Raleigh and
Fayetteville are two hours north, Myrtle Beach, SC is about an hour and a half
south, and Charleston, SC is about three and a half hours south.

closest airport is Charlottesville International Airport, four miles outside of town.
